ANDERSON & LEWIS SET FOR EXETER CLASH IN McCOY’S PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS

EXETER will host a rematch of last year's final between Gary Anderson and Adrian Lewis when the McCoy's Premier League Darts returns to the Westpoint Arena on Thursday March 1.

The sport's top eight players, headed by the legendary 15-time World Champion Phil "The Power" Taylor, will compete in Exeter on the fourth league night of this year's £450,000 event.

The four matches scheduled to take place at the Westpoint Arena include a repeat of the Premier League Darts Play-Off final last May, which saw Somerset-based Scot Gary Anderson defeat World Champion Adrian Lewis 10-4.

"It should be a great match," said Anderson. "Adrian had beaten me in the World Championship final a few months before but I was determined not to let him get the better of me again in the Premier League, and it was a memorable moment.

"He'll be out for revenge against me but I'll be looking forward to it. Living in Somerset means it's only down the road for me too, so hopefully I'll have plenty of support on the night."

Taylor, a five-time Premier League Darts winner, meets Australian star Simon Whitlock at the Westpoint Arena in a rematch of their thrilling meeting in the 2010 World Championship final, which the Stoke great won 7-3.

"Simon always gives you a tough match," said Taylor. "He showed by reaching the World Championship semis in the New Year that he's back to his best so I'll look forward to it.

"The fans in Exeter always create a brilliant atmosphere and all of the players love coming to the Westpoint Arena, and we'll want to make it a fantasitc night for the fans."

The event also sees popular five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld take on Premier League debutant Andy Hamilton, who reached the World Championship final at the start of January.

2009 Premier League Darts champion James Wade, meanwhile, plays the tournament's other debutant, Players Championship winner Kevin Painter, in the night's other game.

The McCoy's Premier League Darts begins on February 9 at the Manchester Arena and stops in Exeter during a 14-week tour of the UK & Ireland's biggest arenas, before the top four players from the league table contest the Play-Offs.

Tickets for the Westpoint Arena cost £35 for table seats and £20 in the tiered seating, plus booking fee, and can be purchased by calling 08444 99 99 55 or visiting www.ticketzone.co.uk.
